What type of help do you need to be successful in your project? The 1000 Gretas members are here to help. We have many talented people that are ready to lend a helping hand from strategy and business model development to technical assistance, sales and marketing and access to capital. Be specific about where you could use a hand and how it will influence your project.
What happens after I send my submission?
You will be placed in the queue of other projects that will be evaluated during the next grant period. Grant periods are currently once per month. The members of 1000 Gretas will be notified the week of voting and each member receives an equal number of voting points that they are allowed to distribute across the set of candidate projects. The submission with the highest number of points in a grant period is awarded the grant.
How will I be notified if I am selected?
Once selected, the 1000 Gretas team will contact you by email to get more information from you on your story and how you will use the grant. Your story will be posted on the 1000 Gretas website and go out to the members via a monthly newsletter. We want to promote our Gretas!
What happens if I am not selected?
If you are not selected, your idea will roll forward to the next selection period and be up for a grant again unless you tell us to remove your submission. We may ask you to modify your idea for further consideration based on feedback from mentors and experts in the community who think the impact would be larger or the risk lower based on the suggested changes.
How do I get mentors involved in helping me out with my idea?
In the future, we will institute a matching process to pair you with mentors who are appropriate to your plan. In these early stages however, the primary way to get help is to ask. The idea form itself allows you to list areas where you would like some help. The forums are also a great place to ask for help, and in particular, the Opportunities forum https://www.1000gretas.org/forum/opportunities. The 1000 Gretas members are well connected to the investment community and have been startup founders, sales leaders, technologists, and marketers. Make good use of them!
